Revised Total Coliform Rule (RTCR)

Rule Summary

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) published the Revised Total Coliform Rule (RTCR) in the Federal Register (FR) on February 13, 2013 (78 FR 10269) and minor corrections on February 26, 2014 (79 FR 10665). The RTCR is the revision to the 1989 Total Coliform Rule (TCR) and is intended to improve public health protection.

This page provides the slides and recorded webinar training conducted by US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) on the Revised Total Coliform Rule (RTCR). The training provided guidance to States, Tribes, and EPA Regions that will have RTCR primacy. These materials are not regulations, nor do they change or substitute for those provisions and regulations under the RTCR. Thus, they do not impose legally binding requirements. Further, the RTCR training materials do not confer legal rights or impose legal obligations upon any member of the public.
