Lead Service Line Replacement – Ideas for States

Lead service lines (LSL's) are a major source of the lead that gets into drinking water. This was a clear factor in the crisis in Flint. Removal of LSL's was also identified by the National Drinking Water Advisory Council as a significant issue that EPA should address in the revisions to the Lead and Copper Rule. We will never get to the goal of zero lead in drinking water without totally removing LSL's.

DMUC 2017 Pre-Conference Webinar Series (1 of 3): SDWIS Prime Community Testing Round 1

This webinar will provide the SDWIS community with information about how to do SDWIS Prime application testing during this first round of user acceptance testing (UAT), occurring April 24–May 5. Testers will be testing the inventory and legal entity areas of SDWIS Prime, so during the webinar, EPA and the development team will orient the community to what to look for while testing, and how to make the most of interacting with the system. Testers will use the SDWIS Prime Zendesk website to provide feedback, so a demo and instructions will be provided about how to use Zendesk. Finally, there will be open Q and A during the webinar.

DMUC 2017 Pre-Conference Webinar Series (2 of 3): Federal Modernization

In this webinar, EPA staff will describe updates to the SDWIS Fed production control process. This process, which hasn’t been updated since 2004, uses older technology that may not work as intended even if we update it to work with a newer version of Java. In addition, staff will describe the concept for SDWIS Fed quarterly reporting when SDWIS Prime goes live, which will rely on the new production control process.

AWWA’s Utility Management Standards: G-300 Source Water Protection

This series of three webinars involves a detailed review of the AWWA Utility Management Standards and Self-Assessment Guidebooks for treatment, distribution systems and source water protection. This will also include a presentation of case studies on the use and benefits of the standards and guidebooks by utility staff.
