Lead Service Line Replacement – Ideas for States
Lead service lines (LSL's) are a major source of the lead that gets into drinking water. This was a clear factor in the crisis in Flint. Removal of LSL's was also identified by the National Drinking Water Advisory Council as a significant issue that EPA should address in the revisions to the Lead and Copper Rule. We will never get to the goal of zero lead in drinking water without totally removing LSL's.
