Location: Hilton Old Town Alexandria – Alexandria, Virginia
Dates: Monday, September 9 through Wednesday, September 11, 2024
    UAT Meeting: September 11 – 13

This year’s DMUC will be held in Alexandria, VA, from September 9 – 11, 2024. Please note there is a $150 fee associated with registration for the event. If you have questions, please email Anthony DeRosa at aderosa(at)asdwa.

    Agenda and Conference Materials:

    DMUC Remote Access:

We realize that some individuals may be unable to travel to participate, so ASDWA is offering remote access to the presented materials and live conference audio via webinar.

If you are interested in attending, we ask that you register for one or all the sessions below. There are nine webinars scheduled for Eastern Time. You may register once for all sessions using our online form [https://form.jotform.com/ASDWA/dmuc-24-remote-session-access] or register for each session you wish to attend by using the individual links below each session title. All plenary sessions will be recorded and shared after the Conference for later review. If any of the links below are broken, try to copy/paste the URLs into your browser.

If you previously registered as an in-person attendee using ASDWA’s online form but do not plan to attend in person, please let us know for planning purposes.

By registering as a remote attendee, you agree to “skate at your own risk,” as ASDWA staff may be unable to provide technical support during the sessions. Due to unknown technical factors [i.e., hotel internet crashes, equipment failures, etc.], ASDWA cannot guarantee that we’ll successfully broadcast every scheduled session. If we need to cancel a broadcast, we will try to contact all registrants to inform them. Naturally, we’ll do our best to provide a quality experience for the entire Conference and thank you ahead of time for your understanding.

We’re very excited to host this year’s DMUC social at Escape Room Live Alexandria! We have 38 seats reserved in four game rooms for Tuesday, September 10 from 7 – 8 pm ET. Based on interest, we can add additional rooms – if we do, those games will take place following the first round and will run from 8 – 9 pm ET.

Unfortunately, due to the nature of the games, there are no spectator seats – this event is for players only! Also due to the limited number of seats, we’re opening up the signups to states and EPA first…so reserve your space now! Please select the Wait List option if you are non-state/EPA or if all available seats are sold out when completing the form.

If you are interested in scheduling time to speak with one of the available contractors, please indicate your interest during registration or contact Anthony DeRosa at ASDWA for more information.

Limited Travel Support for States – Submissions Due June 30, 2024:

ASDWA has limited funds to support state travel to this meeting. In an effort to provide as much assistance to as many individuals as possible, ASDWA will only provide reimbursement for hotel, airfare and transportation costs. Meals will not be reimbursed for this year.
    Approval Timelines:
    • Submit your travel estimate by June 30.
    • ASDWA will make the first round of determinations by July 12th.
    • After the first round, any remaining funds will be available to support additional staff on a first come, first serve basis.

If you have trouble with these deadlines or have any special circumstances related to travel, please get in touch with Anthony DeRosa so we can work to try to meet your needs.

Please note the following if you request travel support:
    • There is a $150 registration fee for this event. This administrative fee does not qualify for reimbursement.
    • ASDWA will prioritize support for one staff person per state until all funds are reserved. If you submit requests for multiple individuals from your program, please indicate who should receive priority consideration in the notes.
    • Ensure you have approval from your program Administrator to attend the meeting. A copy of your approval will be shared with your primacy agency Administrator.
    • Before submission, you will be asked to confirm you have read ASDWA’s Reimbursement Policy. Please take this important step, so you know what will and will not be covered. A copy is linked to the submission form and online here: ASDWA-Reimbursement-Policy.pdf
    • After travel, you must complete an ASDWA Travel Expense Reimbursement Form (jotform.com) ASDWA will process reimbursements within 30 days of submission.

  • WateReuse Symposium & State Summit on Water Reuse

    WateReuse Symposium (March 11-14)

The Annual WateReuse Symposium is the premier conference on water recycling — attracting water professionals and water reuse practitioners globally for knowledge-sharing, networking, and collaboration. The 39th Annual WateReuse Symposium is a celebration of a unique moment for water reuse. New funding, new collaborations, and new regulatory frameworks are elevating opportunities for reuse projects nationwide. The Symposium is the most comprehensive water recycling learning opportunity available, covering policy, technology, operations, and communications for applications that range from irrigation and potable reuse to onsite and industrial systems. This one stop event also includes networking events and interactive workshops, including the State Summit on Water Reuse on the first day of the Symposium.

For registration and other event information, visit the WateReuse Symposium webpage.

State Summit on Water Reuse (March 11th)

State regulatory agencies from across the U.S. come together on the first day of the Annual WateReuse Symposium to discuss and share information and experiences on programs and approaches for the management of water reuse applications. Now in its 6th year, the regulator summit supports National Water Reuse Action Plan, Action 2.2: Enhance State Collaboration on Water Reuse, and is organized in partnership with the Association of Clean Water Administrators (ACWA), Association of State Drinking Water Administrators (ASDWA), and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

This year’s Summit will occur on March 11, 2024, in conjunction with the annual WateReuse Association Symposium (March 11-14) at the Hilton Denver City Center in Denver, CO. The primary goal of the State Summit is to provide a place for state regulators to share and learn about a range of water reuse issues, network with state colleagues, and coordinate with representatives from select federal agencies. The Summit will feature perspectives from many states and provide an opportunity for participants to share their thoughts and key questions with colleagues from around the country.

For information about registering for the states-only summit, reach out to Ashley Voskuhl (avoskuhl@asdwa.org) by February 15, 2024.

IMPORTANT NOTE – we are running out of rooms in the meeting block at the negotiated rate. If, for some reason, you cannot get a room at the negotiated rate [$249], I did notice they have “non-refundable rooms” listed for $291. I’ve seen a lot of people selecting the $344 “quick book” rate that is defaulted on, but this allows for cancellations a day before arrival. Selecting the white button below each room option that reads “More rates from…” will show additional rates for the same room with different amenities offered. OK, maybe not exactly “immersive,” but all day Monday and Tuesday the draft/proposed SDWIS Modernization Data Model will be on display in Washington I and II rooms – right next door to the main conference room. Wall-sized prints of the Entity Relationship Diagrams (ERD) will be available for review and Team Systalex staff will be available for ad hoc discussions/questions on the ERD. Attendees are welcome to browse the space during networking breaks. …next year, we’ll roll out the VR helmets!

    SDWIS Social at Bowlero:

This year’s SDWIS Social is at Bowlero on Tuesday evening from 7:30-9:30 PM ET. Join the SDWIS Community for a fun evening of apps, drinks and bowling! Players and spectators are asked to RSVP by emailing Anthony DeRosa at aderosa@asdwa. Please indicate whether you intend to play or just hang out.

Onsite Technical Support and Consultation for SDWIS Systems:

ASDWA and EPA arranged to have a Tech Support and Consult room, located in the Monroe Room, available throughout the Conference to provide on-site user support and consultation for all current SDWIS systems. The contractors (Systalex and The Group) will be available to provide technical assistance, document technical issues, and work to resolve these issues directly with the user.

    This includes support for:

    • SDWIS/State Software
    • SDWIS/XML Sampling
    • SDWIS/Lab to State
    • SDWIS/Migrate to State

ASDWA has scheduled a series of  webinars that will take place during the 2022 DMUC. Our goal is to provide access to the presented materials and live conference audio [both the presenters and discussion coming from the audience], in a real-time environment.
We ask that you register for one or more of the scheduled sessions below by COB Friday, September 16, although you may register at any time leading up to the start of the broadcast. All  webinars are scheduled for Eastern Time – you will have the option to adjust the time zone when you register. There are a total of eight sessions. You may submit a single registration form to sign up for all [https://form.jotform.com/ASDWA/dmuc-22–remote-session-access], or use the links below to register for each session you wish to attend. All sessions will be recorded and shared after the Conference for later review. If any of the links below are broken, try to copy/paste the URLs into your browser.

IMPORTANT: By registering as a remote attendee you are agreeing to “skate at your own risk”, as ASDWA staff may be unable to provide any level of technical support during the sessions.  Due to unknown technical factors [i.e., hotel internet crashes, equipment failures, etc.], ASDWA cannot guarantee that we’ll be successful in broadcasting every scheduled session. In the event we need to cancel a session, we will try to contact all registrants to inform them. Naturally, we’ll do our best to provide a quality experience for the entire Conference and thank you ahead of time for your understanding.

    Day One – September 19

    Day Two – September 20

    Day Three – September 21

    Conference Evaluation Form:

Submitting an evaluation form is a great way to help improve future meetings, so we really appreciate it. Feel free to submit more than one form – especially if you think of something during the conference. You’re also welcome to email Anthony DeRosa to discuss your experiences at DMUC 22.
