CEQ to Remove NEPA Implementation of Regulations

Off

The White House Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ) proposed an interim final rule that removes CEQ regulations to implement the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) from the Code of Federal Regulations. This proposed final rule comes from White House Executive Order 14154 entitled Unleashing America’s Energy, which aims to align the American economy with cleaner energy goals and emphasize America’s affordable and reliable energy and natural resources to the world.

This rule directs CEQ to issue guidance on implementing NEPA and proposes rescinding the NEPA implementing regulations. It would also require all Federal agencies to comply with any regulation changes. For more information, see the Federal Register notice here.
