Rhode Island Department of Health Offers Residents Map of Lead Pipes

Off

Following the release of the final Lead and Copper Rule Improvements in October of 2024, the Environmental Protection Agency required all drinking water systems to submit a lead service line inventory to their state drinking water programs. The Rhode Island Department of Health (RIDOH) used these individual inventories to make an interactive map of all lead, non-lead, and unknown material service lines in the state.

Residents can use this map to learn about the material of both private and public service lines on their properties. Should they find that they have lead service lines on or near their property, residents may request a free pitcher filter to make their drinking water safer as the state and its water systems work to remove all lead service lines by 2037.

The service line map may be viewed here and on the RIDOH website.
