ASDWA 50th SDWA Anniversary Video with Kay Rottell from Washington State
ASDWA’s latest video in our series with Waterloop, features Kay Rottell, the Deputy Director of Washington State’s Office of Drinking Water. In this video, she explains how the Safe Drinking Water Act allowed the state to increase water system treatment requirements for surface water sources that supply drinking water to 60 percent of Washington’s population. This helps encourage water systems to optimize treatment that goes beyond SDWA requirements to further reduce turbidity, make sure filters are clean, and backwash more often to deliver safe and reliable water to their customers’ homes and taps.
This continuing series is being conducted over the course of the year to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA) and the 40th anniversary of ASDWA.
