NDWAC Meeting Scheduled for Perchlorate
On December 4, 2024, EPA Office of Ground Water and Drinking Water announced via the Federal Register that the National Drinking Water Advisory Council (NDWAC) will meet to discuss a proposed National Primary Drinking Water Regulation for perchlorate.
Perchlorate is due to have a proposed National Primary Drinking Water Regulation (NPDWR) by November 2025 and a final regulation by May 2027. It is used in a variety of industrial activities, but with increased funding from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and additional research, perchlorate could be the next harmful chemical removed and regulated by NPDWR.
This meeting will be on January 9, 2025 from 11:30am – 4:15pm Eastern Time. Information to register for the meeting will be on the Public Notice tab of the NDWAC website.
