EPA Publishes PFAS Rule Memos to Clarify Monitoring and Reporting Requirements
On November 21, EPA published two PFAS National Primary Drinking Water Regulation (NPDWR) Monitoring and Reporting Requirements memorandums. One memo is for EPA Regions and primacy agencies, and the other is for laboratories and water systems. The memos provide information on initial monitoring requirements and using previously collected data from the Fifth Unregulated Contaminant Monitoring Rule (UCMR 5) and state monitoring programs to meet rule requirements and inform PFAS compliance monitoring frequency determinations. The memos also provide clarifying information related to laboratory analytical requirements and reporting recommendations for PFAS sample results.
