ASDWA 50th SDWA Anniversary Video with Sarah Gaddis from Kentucky
Sarah Gaddis, ASDWA’s member and Director of the Kentucky Division of Water is featured in this new video in our continuing series with Travis Loop from Waterloop. This video series is being released over the course of the year to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA) and the 40th anniversary of ASDWA.
In this video, Sarah Gaddis highlights the importance of the role of the SDWA to her personal and professional life. She shares how the state regionalized its water systems to bring the number of systems down from over 1,000 to just over 430 through interconnections and shared management. This success in Kentucky reduces water system costs and ensures redundant and compliant safe drinking water supplies.
