EPA Releases 2023 Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (DWSRF) Annual Report
Today, 10/17, EPA released its 2023 Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (DWSRF) Annual Report. The Report highlights programmatic and financial information including the amount of loans and assistance provided to communities, set-asides totals, savings to the communities amongst other information from FY 2023 and throughout the history of the program. The Report also includes case studies at the end, showcasing the positive impacts of SRF funding on communities and the environment.
Some of the highlights include:
- $4.35B in assistance provided
- $1.49B to systems serving under 10,000 people
- $1.79B to state-defined disadvantaged communities
- $943M provided in additional subsidy as principal forgiveness/ grants/negative interest
- $57.3B in assistance provided since 1997.
Additionally, in July 2024, EPA released its updated State Revolving Fund (SRF) Public Portal, which provides data in a user-friendly, accessible format for states, utilities, and anyone interested in where water infrastructure investments are being made. The portal allows users to access and create downloadable reports, engage with SRF data through summary dashboards, and now includes an interactive map of SRF projects across the country.
