White House Announces Cybersecurity Awareness Month
On September 30, 2024, President Biden declared October 2024 to be Cybersecurity Awareness Month. The White House and the Biden Administration hoped to encourage agencies and states to take action to protect people, businesses, and infrastructure from the increasing cyber threats.
The EPA announced four weeks of cybersecurity trainings, with webinars and readings on password protection, phishing indicators, and software changes for water systems and utilities. These resources are meant to educate and provide a landing location for states, water systems, and utilities on cybersecurity support and tools.
ASDWA hosted the Cybersecurity Taskforce meeting earlier in September and will continue to provide support and resources for the States and their water systems.
