Celebrate Source Water Protection Next Week

Next week is Source Water Protection Week, from September 29 – October 5. States, water utilities, and other partners are invited to join in on raising awareness to “Protect the Source.” AWWA has created a variety of materials for interested stakeholders to share information with your networks, create posts on social media, and help encourage actions aimed at protecting our nation’s drinking water sources. The campaign supports programs (including the state source water protection programs) that protect drinking water sources such as rivers, lakes, reservoirs and underground wells from pollution, which is the most effective and least expensive way to keep drinking water safe and healthy. This week is also a chance to highlight the 50th Anniversary of the Safe Drinking Water Act and the 40th Anniversary of ASDWA, and all the source water protection work states do.
