ASDWA 50th SDWA Anniversary Video Series Featuring Sandeep Burman of Minnesota

Watch ASDWA’s fifth video in our continuing series highlighting success stories from the past 50 years of implementing the Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA). ASDWA is working in partnership with Travis Loop from waterloop on this series of videos that will be released over the course of the year to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the SDWA and the 40th anniversary of ASDWA.

In today’s featured video, Sandeep Burman, the Drinking Water Administrator for Minnesota’s Department of Health, reflects on how the SDWA Unregulated Contaminant Monitoring Rule (UCMR) helped Minnesota’s PFAS work. With the two rounds of UCMR, federal funding, and state efforts, and owing to the push and extra momentum that came from the SDWA, the state was able to test every single public water supply for PFAS. This was a great platform to be able to apply state and federal standards. Sandeep gives great kudos to the SDWA for providing an important piece of the puzzle for Minnesota to address PFAS in the state.

Join us as we continue to highlight the remarkable achievements of ASDWA’s members in the #stategovernment #drinkingwater programs and their relentless contributions to ensuring access to safe drinking #water for all Americans.
