CDC Releases Article on Community Water Fluoridation Levels for Oral Health
Yesterday, the Center for Disease Control (CDC) released Community Fluoridation Levels to Promote Effectiveness and Safety in Oral Health – United States, 2016-2021. This report evaluates fluoride levels of community water systems reported to CDC’s Water Fluoridation Reporting System (WFRS) between 2016 and 2021 to determine whether community water systems adding fluoride and reporting to WFRS meet optimal levels to provide full oral health benefits. The report recommends that water systems, state oral health programs, and state drinking water officials collaborate to improve WFRS reporting to meet recommended fluoride levels.
