Congress Passes Additional One-Week CR as $1.7 Trillion Omnibus Bill Heads to Biden’s Desk
On Friday, December 23, President Biden signed a one-week Continuing Resolution (CR) that avoided the federal government shutdown that was scheduled for midnight that same day. The CR funds the government until this Friday (12/30) at midnight. The hope now is that this will allow enough time for President Biden to sign the $1.7 trillion omnibus spending bill that was passed by the Senate last Thursday (12/22) and the House the following day (12/23). President Biden is expected to sign the omnibus bill sometime in the next few days.
