Senate Passes One Week Continuing Resolution, Bill Heads to President Biden’s Desk
Late Thursday night (12/15) the Senate passed a one-week Continuing Resolution (CR) that will avoid a government shutdown today (12/16) at midnight. The House already passed the bill this past Wednesday, which will keep the government running until December 23. The bill now moves to President Biden’s desk for his signature. Congress will have to come to an agreement on the federal budget before next Thursday if it hopes to avoid another CR or face a shutdown right before the holidays. Republicans rejected an amendment that would have extended the CR to March 10.
