NOAA Releases Report on Water Sector Best Practices for Climate Adaptation
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) recently released a report that summarizes a series of eight webinars on water system climate adaptation. The report – “Showcasing Leading Practices in Climate Adaptation: Experiences from the Water Sector to Empower Other Sectors and Communities” – summarizes the experiences from water systems across the country, as well as resources and best practices collected by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the US Water Alliance, the Water Research Foundation (WRF), other non-profits, academic institutions, and planning organizations. As extreme weather events continue to increase in frequency and magnitude, the need to transfer useful information also increases, and this report provides many practical paths for water systems to consider for climate adaptation.
