FEMA Announces FY 2022 Funding Opportunities for Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities and Flood Mitigation Assistance
Recently, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) announced its Fiscal Year 2022 funding opportunities for the Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities (BRIC) and Flood Mitigation Assistance (FMA) grant programs. The two competitive mitigation grant programs provide states, local communities, tribes and territories funding to address high-level future risks to natural disasters such as wildfires, drought, hurricanes, earthquakes, extreme heat, and increased flooding to foster greater community resilience and reduce disaster suffering. The application period will open on September 30, 2022 and close on January 27, 2023.
For the Fiscal Year 2021 projects, FEMA prioritized and selected project subapplications from tribes, Economically Disadvantaged Rural Communities and other disadvantaged communities to support its commitment to the Justice40 Initiative.
