EPA Releases Spring 2022 Unified Regulatory Agenda
EPA has released its Spring 2022 Unified Agenda of Regulatory and Non-Regulatory Actions. A handful of drinking water regulations are listed in this Agenda:
- Water System Restructuring Assessment Rule – Proposal in October 2022 and Final in May 2024
- Per- and polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS): Perfluorooctanioc Acid (PFOA) and Perfluorooctanesulfonic Acid (PFOS) National Primary Drinking Water Regulation Rulemaking – Proposal in December 2022 and Final in December 2023
- Consumer Confidence Report (CCR) rule Revisions – Proposal in March 2023 and Final in March 2024
Three other drinking water regulations are listed as long-term actions, with the timeframes for the both the Lead and Copper Rule Improvements (LCRI) and Cybersecurity in Public Water Systems noted as “to be determined”. The timeframe for the revisions to the Microbial/Disinfection By-Products (MDBP) regulations shows a proposal in August 2024 and a final regulation as “to be determined”.
