ASDWA Hosting LCRR Webinar on Friday, July 16 from 1-2:30 EDT

ASDWA has scheduled a webinar on the Lead and Copper Rule Revisions (LCRR) for Friday, July 16th from 1:00-2:30 EDT, while the LCRR is under a “Regulatory Freeze Pending Review” by EPA. EPA recently published a Federal Register notice that finalized an extension of the LCRR effective date until December 16, 2021, as well as extending the LCRR’s compliance deadline to October 16, 2024. EPA is going through a series of virtual engagements that will extend at least until late July, and the Agency is not planning on making a final decision on how to proceed in the future until those engagements are completed. This webinar is intended to “fill the gaps” somewhat during this time of regulatory uncertainty.  

While this review is ongoing, ASDWA and its members have been working through the details of the LCRR and identifying issues that warrant additional investigation and discussion. This webinar will start with a presentation on the challenging LCRR issues and ASDWA’s perspective on those issues, followed by a states’ panel discussion on how these issues might play out in the future.
