NRCS Announces New RCPP Project Awards
USDA’s Natural Resources Service (NRCS) has awarded $206 million for 48 new Regional Conservation Partnership Program (RCPP) projects across 29 states that will leverage nearly $300 million in partner contributions. These are the first RCPP awards under the new 2018 Farm Bill and include partner projects focused on helping private landowners and producers implement conservation and practices to improve water quality, soil health and drought resiliency, enhance wildlife habitat, and protect drinking water.

Some of the projects aimed at protecting drinking water include: the Streambank Restoration Initiative in Alabama, the Lake Springfield Source Water Protection Project in Illinois, and the East Locust Creek Source Water Protection Project in Missouri.
