Massachusetts Publishes Proposed PFAS Drinking Water Standards
On December 13th, the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (MassDEP) filed proposed regulatory changes to develop a drinking water standard for six per- and polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) compounds. The changes propose to establish a Maximum Contaminant Level (MCL) for PFOA, PFOS, PFNA, PFHxS, PFHpA, and PFDA at a combined of level of 20 nanograms per liter ((ng/l) or parts per trillion (ppt)).
