Senate Passes Four Fiscal 2020 Spending Bills
The Senate has recently passed four fiscal 2020 spending bills as part of a $214 billion package (HR 3055), with eight remaining on the docket. The package includes text of the Senate Appropriations Committee-approved Agriculture (S 2522), Commerce-Justice-Science (S 2584), Interior-Environment (S 2580) and Transportation-HUD (S 2520) bills. The Interior-Environment bill (S 2580) includes $9.01 billion to EPA and has been previously summarized here.
Negotiators plan to conference the four bills prior to the Nov. 21 expiration of stopgap funding (PL 116-59) for all federal agencies. Lawmakers are considering another continuing resolution that would extend through early 2020, with February being considered as a more realistic extension.
