EPA Has Committed to Setting Drinking Water Standards for PFOA and PFOS
The day after EPA released its PFAS Action Plan, David Ross, EPA Assistant Administrator for Water, sent a letter to Sen. Carper (D-DE), stating that “EPA intends to establish a maximum contaminant level (MCL) for PFOA and PFOS- two of the most well-known and prevalent PFAS chemicals”. In the same letter, EPA commits to proposing a regulatory determination for PFOA and PFOS by the end of 2019, as well as ” gathering and evaluating information to determine if a Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA) regulation is appropriate for a broader class of PFAS”.
