Water Systems Council Offers Support for Damaged Private Wells
Our colleagues at The Water Systems Council have developed information and materials targeted toward private well owners who may have suffered damage or flooding from Hurricane Florence or may have similar problems once Hurricane Michael finishes crossing states in the Southeast.
The wellcare® Well Owners Network offers the following to help well owners deal with flooded or storm-damaged wells:
- Videos on Disinfecting a Well in Case of Contamination and What Private Well Owners Need to Know About Your Water Supply in Case of a Natural Disaster
- Information sheets on Emergencies, Disasters, and Wells, Disinfecting Your Well, and Managing a Flooded Well
- Interactive map with emergency agency information by state.
Membership in the wellcare® Well Owners Network is free. Members receive unlimited access to the wellcare® Hotline (888-395-1033), quarterly newsletters with tips and tools to maintain and protect wells and well water, opportunities for discounted water test kits, and more than 100 information sheets that provide detailed information on caring for well systems, septic systems, and well water.
