EPA Extends Comment Period for Benefit-Cost Proposal Until August 13th
On Tuesday, July 3rd, EPA published the extension to the comment period (until August 13th) for its June 13th advanced notice of proposed rulemaking for “Increasing Consistency and Transparency in Considering Costs and Benefits in the Rulemaking Process”. ASDWA co-signed a June 26th letter with several other organizations requesting an extension due to the complexity of the issues to be considered in the initial 30-day comment period.
This advanced notice of proposed rulemaking parallels another proposed rule on “Strengthening Transparency in Regulatory Science” with a comment period that now closes on August 16th. Both of these have the potential to significantly impact EPA’s regulatory development processes.
