EPA Releases Potable Reuse Compendium
Today (1/11), EPA released its 2017 Potable Reuse Compendium. This compendium supplements EPA’s 2012 Guidelines for Water Reuse by informing readers of current practices and approaches for water reuse, including direct potable reuse. The new compendium is intended to be a compilation of technical information on potable reuse practices and approaches for planners and decision-makers. State drinking water regulators are making increasingly difficult decisions on direct potable reuse issues such as treatment reliability and redundancy, monitoring (both grab samples and online monitoring), and operator certification with the increased interest in direct potable reuse.
