AWWA Releases Video on Downstream Impacts from Farms & Potential Farm Bill Funding for Conservation
The American Water Works Association (AWWA) recently released a whiteboard video on the downstream water quality impacts from facts that maps out a potential funding source for conservation activities as part of the reauthorization of the Farm Bill. AWWA is asking Congress to consider designating 10% of the U.S. Departments of Agriculture’s (USDA’s) funding for conservation programs for targeted measures that would improve downstream water quality. While this is a laudable goal, it remains to be seen when and how the Farm Bill will be reauthorized in the future, and whether or not this component ends up in the final legislation.
