President Signs Legislation Establishing Nationwide PFAS Drinking Water Contamination Study
On December 12th, the President signed H.R. 2810, the “National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2018” into law that includes an amendment for a nationwide health study proposed by Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) on the impact of PFAS in drinking water. The amendment grants the Department of Defense (DOD) authorization to fund the first nationwide health study to be conducted by CDC’s Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR) on implications of PFAS in drinking water.
