House Passes Omnibus Funding Bill
On Thursday, the House passed the FY 18 Omnibus Appropriations Act and sent the measure to the Senate for consideration. In its present form, it is unlikely to be well received. Senate objections on both sides of the aisle vary widely and range across a number of policy provisions. However, the Senate has not passed any of its own funding measures and only about half of the bills have been voted on by the full Senate Appropriations Committee. Much work remains to be done before the expiration of the Continuing Resolution on December 8. What a final funding measure will contain and how much of the House Omnibus will still be part of the final product is a big unknown.
