President Trump Releases Executive Order on Infrastructure
On August 15th, President Trump signed an Executive Order aimed at streamlining the environmental review and permitting processes. The intent of this Executive Order is to make more efficient the federal permitting process for construction of transportation, water and other infrastructure projects more efficient without harming the environment.
On a related note, details are still lack on the President’s plan to increase infrastructure funding. There is an occasional news article about the potential for new funding through a $1 trillion infrastructure plan, but nothing concrete beyond the streamlined permitting process in the Executive Order has been released yet.
