Federal Partnership Launches Nutrient Sensor Action Challenge
A federal partnership has launched the Nutrient Sensor Action Challenge. This challenge is designed to demonstrate how nutrient sensors can be used by states and local communities to help manage nutrient pollution. Teams will compete for $150K in cash prizes by demonstrating effective use of low-cost continuous nutrient sensors and how collected data can be part of state and local decision-making.
The Nutrient Sensor Action Challenge is a collaboration between the EPA, USGS, USDA, the National Institute of Science and Technology (NIST), NOAA, and the Alliance for Coastal Technologies. More details can be found here: https://challenge.gov/nutrient-sensor-action-challenge/. Stage 1 of the challenge closes on September 20, 2017.
