Administration Creates New Infrastructure Advisory Council
Earlier this week, the White House announced plans to establish a new infrastructure advisory council to report on “funding, support, and delivery of infrastructure projects in several sectors including…water resources…” The announcement came as part of a new (still unpublished) Executive Order.
Under the auspices of the Commerce Department, the Council will have 15 members with credentials in real estate, finance, construction, communications and technology, transportation and logistics, labor, environmental policy, and regional and local development. Members will be selected by the President. It is expected that the Council will recommend actions in support of the President’s $1 trillion infrastructure spending proposal and vision. Some details on the FY 18 Budget and President’s infrastructure initiative have been released previously.
