Lead Testing Across the U.S.
The May 2017 issue of Water Quality Products, a magazine typically geared towards the Point-of-Use water treatment market, has a story about lead that is a nice summary of recent actions in several states to address lead in drinking water. So far in 2017, lead in schools and day care centers has been a hot topic in several state legislatures – this interest will likely continue into the future.
When ASDWA surveyed states only a year ago, very few had formal programs to test for lead in school drinking water, but that has changed significantly as the Water Quality Products article illustrates. When there is no mandated state program, states usually recommend EPA’s 3Ts program for voluntary testing of schools.
