Job Opportunity: Washington Department of Health Seeks Environmental Planner
Washington’s Department of Health is seeking a full-time Environmental Planner within their Division of Public Health.
This position supports the Department’s mission by serving as policy lead and technical expert for water system planning and related public drinking water issues. Most of Washington’s 4,200 Group A water systems lack the technical and financial resources to maintain long-term viability. This position ensures ODW maintains policies, rules, and guidance material to promote the long-term safety and viability of public drinking water systems. This position works with water system owners and managers, satellite management agencies, partners/stakeholders, and other state and local agencies to promote ODW’s mission through strategic and collaborative policy, rule, and guidance development.
This position serves as lead policy analyst in the areas of water system planning, local government planning, satellite management agency, Municipal Water Law, Public Water System Coordination Act, and State Environmental Policy Act, and leads technical and policy analyses for projects of state-wide interest, sensitivity, and complexity through coordination within the office, agency, and with other state and local agencies and stakeholders.
