EPA Releases Prioritization Procedures for Chemicals Under TSCA
EPA published its proposed rule for procedures for the prioritization of chemicals for risk evaluation under the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) on January 17, 2017. For these procedures, EPA is proposing to establish a risk-based screening process and criteria that EPA will use for either High-Priority Substances for risk evaluation, or Low-Priority Substances for which evaluation isn’t necessary. Prioritization is the first step in a new process for risk assessment and risk management under the 2016 TSCA amendments.
