EPA Staffing Update

Please join me in welcoming Deric Teasley, Marian Robinson and Yasmeen Barri to the OGWDW Infrastructure Branch and the broader SDWIS community.
For the past 7 years Deric has been leading application and web service development for the OW Project Management Office, including the Storm Surge Mapper with OGWDW’s Water Security Division, the Withdrawal Permits application with OWM, and the WATERS map services with OWOW. Deric previously worked in the Office of Research and Development, serving in several positions including server management and developing of one of the agency’s first modern dynamically driven websites. Deric earned a degree in electrical engineering from Virginia Tech and an MBA from DeVry University. Interests include “getting in a good gym run” and cycling when the weather is nice. Deric will be the lead for the Compliance Monitoring Data Portal Customer Support Team within our Information Systems Team.
Marian comes to us on a 4-month detail from the Office of Land and Emergency Management (OLEM) with a background in systems development, technical support, customer outreach, training and web content management. After starting her career with EPA as a LAN Manager, Marian transitioned into a variety IT roles in support of OCFO’s Financial Consolidation project, the Resource Conservation and Recovery System, the Brownfields Program and our own OGWDW website during a Skills Market Place assignment. Marian earned a degree in Management Information Systems from Pace University and has a Master’s Certificate in IT Project Management from George Washington University. Marian will lead SDWIS Prime Transition efforts and help provide Compliance Monitoring Data Portal support.
Yasmeen is a new hire to the federal government, coming to us from the private sector, where she served as an IT project manager for 8 years. She led teams through the full lifecycle development (project planning, design, coding, testing, implementation, and support), change management and process re-engineering efforts. Yasmeen’s passion is to help individuals and organizations reach their highest potential. In the last few years, she has focused on helping non-profit organizations develop programs aimed at personal and professional development of participants. Yasmeen has a degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in Public Health. She is also an Agile Development Scrum Master and certified in administrating the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI). In her spare time, she enjoys discovering DC, the great outdoors, yoga, meditation, and running. While Latonia Cheatham-Strickland is on detail, Yasmeen will lead SDWIS Fed Production Control operations / modernization and SDWIS Data Quality work.
On January 23rd, Latonia will start her Presidential Management Fellows 6-month detail as Special Assistant for the Office of Congressional and Intergovernmental Relations (OCIR) Principal Deputy Assistant Administrator. On her detail, Latonia will be assisting with the coordination of OCIR’s administration transition related activities, providing assistance with the congressional and gubernatorial correspondence process, coordinating and organizing regional congressional liaison calls; developing and implementing administrative management guidelines and procedures, and liaising with other parts of OCIR and the agency.
