EPA Releases 2016 Enforcement Report
EPA just released its annual enforcement report which covers its enforcement activities for fiscal year 2016. The report includes some drinking water related actions and settlements. The major example being the jail terms and fines associated with the Freedom Industries spill that caused the disruption of drinking water in Charleston, WV in 2014. The report also cites trends in enforcement and breakdowns by Region. More specific case information can be accessed through an interactive map. Some drinking water cases are not included in the map but on a separate list. Whether through the map or separate listing, information available includes a narrative case summary and details about the case itself.
