Nominate Someone for a National Water Quality Monitoring Council Award
Our colleagues at the National Water Quality Monitoring Council (NWQMC) give recognition each year to individuals or groups that provide leadership in water quality monitoring. Do you know someone or some organization that may be deserving of one of these awards; possibly a partner in your source water protection efforts? See the announcement below from NWQMC about the qualifications for each award and how to nominate.
Do you know an individual or group whose contributions to the water quality monitoring world have been “above and beyond”? Whose leadership, technical expertise, or collaborative efforts have made a difference in our profession and the world?
Please consider nominating them for one of the Council’s individual awards, the Elizabeth Fellows Award and/or the Barry Long Award, or for our group award, the Vision Award. These awards are highly regarded by members of our profession and treasured by their recipients as recognition of a professional life well lived.
How do you nominate someone? It’s easy!
Use the fillable PDF forms on each award web page linked above, OR, simply send an email to Dan Sullivan (djsulliv@usgs.gov) with your name and contact information, your nominee’s name, affiliation, and contact information along with a paragraph or two describing why you think the person (or group) should be recognized at the upcoming National Monitoring Conference in Tampa, Florida, May 2-6, 2016.
Nominations are due by Friday January 31, 2016.
