Lab Matters – APHL’s Magazine
The Association of Public Health Laboratories (APHL) has just issued their latest Lab Matters magazine which includes some articles that may be of interest to state drinking water programs. The feature article is on Becoming Climate Ready: The New Laboratory Priority. The article outlines some of the impacts of climate change and describes a CDC program called BRACE (Building Resilience Against Climate Effects). There is also a related article on how Massachusetts is responding to algae blooms. A major section of the publication relates to public health preparedness and response; including information on improved electronic data exchange for rapid response, biosafety and biosecurity in labs, and partnerships with first responders. In addition, there are individual articles highlighting work in the Iowa Lab System and the Connecticut Public Health Laboratory. Check out this and other information in the latest Lab Matters.
