New Legal Development at DOJ Regarding State and Local Affairs
Please see the attached US Department of Justice (DOJ) press release regarding a promising development that advances states’ goal of improving relations between states and the federal government on environmental legal matters. This week, Assistant Attorney General (AAG) John C. Cruden for the Justice Department’s Environment and Natural Resources Division announced the creation of a new position designed to facilitate work with state and local government attorneys. This development is in response to conversations between the Environmental Council of the States (ECOS) and AAG Cruden.
