Blog Posting by Dr. Peter Grevatt
Dr. Peter Grevatt, Director of EPA’s Office of Ground Water and Drinking Water, notes that “millions of Americans rely on quality drinking water every day. Drinking water that is not properly treated or disinfected can pose serious health risks. Our sources of water are constantly under threat from both naturally occurring events and human activities. In the United States, water utilities treat nearly 34 billion gallons of water every day, and Americans drink more than one billion glasses of tap water per day.”
