Corona Work on WaterRF GIS Project Continues
Corona Environmental Consulting, LLC (Corona) is continuing its work to develop a GIS tool to help water systems create a dynamic source water assessment with a particular focus on identifying and cataloging potential contaminants in storage tanks that are located upstream of drinking water intakes. This project (#4581) is being funded by the Water Research Foundation (WaterRF). ASDWA staff is participating on the Project Advisory Committee. Corona has been holding a number of meetings recently with various utilities (including West Virginia-American Water Company) to help tailor the tool for water utility mitigation and response planning needs in anticipation of potential chemical spill events. The project is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
