Louisiana Experience with Naegleria Fowleri Published in Journal Article
Louisiana’s recent experience with Naegleria fowleri has been published in the journal Clinical Infectious Diseases. The report, “The First Association of a Primary Amebic Meningoencephalitis Death with Culturable Naegleria fowleri in Tap Water from a U.S. Treated Public Drinking Water System”, describes the clinical and environmental testing that was performed and the case investigation that was conducted. It reports on the results of this work and the conclusions that were subsequently developed.
