NDWAC LCR Workgroup Meeting Held in Arlington
On September 18-19, 2014, the Lead and Copper Rule (LCR) workgroup of the National Drinking Water Advisory Council (NDWAC) met in Arlington, VA. Representatives from the Rhode Island and Washington state drinking water programs are workgroup members and attended the meeting, as did a representative of the Indiana drinking water program. The state representatives were supported by ASDWA staff. This meeting focused on an exchange of ideas, among the workgroup, on what it might consider recommending with respect to lead and copper sampling protocols and public education. The workgroup has at least two more meetings planned for late 2014 and early 2015, with an overall plan of providing its final recommendations to the full NDWAC in Spring 2015 on possible revisions to the LCR.
