EPA to Host Webinar on Harmful Algal Blooms
In late September, EPA will host a webinar on Harmful Algal Blooms (HABs). “Linking Nutrient Pollution and HABs: State of the Science and EPA Actions” is the fourth in a series of summer webinars about this worsening environmental problem and public health threat. Harmful algal blooms are a major environmental problem in all 50 states. Known as red tides, blue-green algae or cyanobacteria, harmful algal blooms have severe impacts on human health, aquatic ecosystems and the economy.
