NEW DATES – Water Lab Alliance Summit
EPA’s Water Security Division has announced a rescheduling of the Water Lab Alliance Summit. Originally scheduled for August 27 -28, the NEW DATES are November 20-21. The Summit will still be held in Chicago, IL. Information on hotel accommodations will be provided soon.
- Audience: EPA is interested in laboratory, water utility, emergency response, public information officer, and first responder community attendance and participation at this event.
- Content & Focus: The Summit will actively engage a vast array of technical and leadership personnel from the Water Sector, laboratory, and emergency response communities who will learn about WLA program elements, practice the WLA Response Plan (WLA-RP) for water contamination incident response, and provide hands-on experience with EPA security-related tools and resources. In addition to showcasing the benefits of the WLA program, the Summit offers attendees information about how to identify laboratories with additional capacity and/or specific capabilities, discuss challenges and solutions to laboratory capability and capacity, and explore EPA tools and resources in a hands-on environment.
- Tools: Among the tools and demonstrations planned are the Water Contaminant Information Tool (WCIT), the Compendium of Environmental Testing Laboratories, EPA’s Web-based Electronic Data Review (WebEDR) application, Unknown Contaminant Sampling guidance, and ultrafiltration of large-volume samples for pathogens and toxins.
