EPA Releases U.S.-Mexico Border Water Infrastructure Program Annual Report
EPA is releasing its U.S.-Mexico Border Water Infrastructure Program 2012 Annual Report. The report highlights Fiscal Year (FY) 2012 accomplishments and the program’s environmental, public health and economic benefits to the U.S. The border program provides access to safe drinking water and adequate sanitation, often for the first time, to underserved communities along the U.S.-Mexico Border. In FY 12, the program provided 5,185 border homes with safe drinking water and 31,092 homes with adequate wastewater services. Currently, the program has 24 projects under construction and supports 26 communities in the planning and development of projects for future construction.
