2012 Water Lab Alliance Security Summit in Nashville
EPA is teaming with the Association of Public Health Laboratories (APHL) to host the 3rd Water Laboratory Alliance (WLA) Security Summit at the Gaylord Opryland in Nashville, TN on March 22-23, 2012. The Summit will actively engage a broad array of technical and leadership staff from water, laboratory, and emergency management sectors to discuss water contamination, laboratory response coordination, and participate in a table top exercise (TTX) that practices the WLA Response Plan (WLA-RP). Registration for the Summit is now open and is free. You may register and obtain the most up-to-date information on the Summit website at www.wlasummit.com. A block of rooms has been set aside at the Gaylord Opryland-Nashville.
Following the 2012 WLA Security Summit there will be a free hands-on training event highlighting EPA’s automated, field-deployable ultrafiltration (UF) device. Training will be held at the Gaylord Opryland in Nashville, TN at 1:30-4:30 PM, on Friday, March 23, 2012. The ultrafiltration device eliminates cross-contamination between samples and safely concentrates bacteria, viruses, protozoans, and some toxins from large quantities of water (10-100 L) on-site prior to transport to laboratories. Registration for this event is limited to 24 participants and is separate from the WLA Security Summit registration.
